Melody or Harmony?

Which do you prefer to play?

Obviously a healthy mix of the two is going to be the most popular answer, but I'd just like to see the answers of either or.

For me (on guitar mind you) I prefer playing rhythm, though I feel I'm a strong lead player.

Melody. If I'm on my guitar (or accordian), I'd like to show off everything I have and be the centre of attention.

i think that the melody HARMONY is what keeps the music together, if i solo by my self it sounds like shit

I prefer Harmory. I dont know because i can solo fairly good.

Learn your modes if you want to write better solos.

Also playing fast is more of a hindrance than a good trait IMO, you need to use it sparingly.
